President Ron advised that eight suggestions for the ‘Big Idea Idea’ – the next big thing for RCN to do - have been submitted and at future meetings those Idea’s will be explained by their suggester.

Larry Harrison announced the Rise AgainstHunger meal packing at Hill Middle School on Saturday, October 12.

2020 Western Polenta Feed
Craig McCurdy announced that the 2020 WesternPolenta Feed kick-off committee meeting will be at 5:30pm on Monday, September 23rd at Nova-Ro III.
Sunrise Club Upcoming Events
Finally, Mike Ring, President of the Novato Sunrise Rotary Club, advised that the Sunrise Club is hosting a behind the scenes tour of sailing ship Matthew Turner construction on Thursday, September 26th at 5:30pm with dinner to follow at Saylor’s in Sausalito
He also reminded us of their Club’s 8th Annual Octoberfest to be held Saturday, October 19th at the Greek Orthodox Church.

Bob Mohr was introduced as a long time Novato Rotarian who has a tough time hearing due to all the missions he flew as an Air Force Pilot.

State Farm Agent Katie Chase’s sponsors into Rotary five years ago were Mark Sander and Dennis Hagerty.
Past President (squared) Dean Heffelfinger, the only Novato Rotarian to hold that post twice, has been in the Club over 30 years and Past Prez Marty joined during his first term. DH1 was also known for a time as the “middle finger” since he has both an older and younger brother.
Frank Bruno (aka Alex Trebek) introduced the first Novato Rotary Trivia Contest.  Eleven teams participated through four rounds of inane questions that no sane person need keep in their memory. The Rounds covered: 1) U.S. Wars; 2) Movies; 3) Wild Kingdom; and 4) Food.  In the end, team “Numero Uno” (Reggie WinnerBrad WilliamsLarry Harrison and Tony Garza) were crowned Champion and each took home a bottle of wine
